You get what you pay for

Turn it all the way down and it jumps to full volume. Very poorly built. I just needed something cheap for an exhibition and as long as you don't touch it after installation it works fine.

Works as expected, better than expected.

Works as expected. I was expecting the dial mechanism to twitch, suddenly jumping from low to high, but it's a gentle upward curve in volume. I use it on line from a Blu-ray player which can be too loud and it just works.

Used as an attenuator to convert the line level output to a computer's mic input level!

I use it as an attenuator when recording from the line out of a home tape recorder to digitize old recordings onto the mic in of a computer. You can adjust the level to eliminate distortion caused by microphone input overload.
