We bought this for our boiler room which only has one of those screw in bulb sockets. Although the light output is the same as the regular incandescent bulb that came before, it puts out MUCH more light than the standard incandescent bulb - maybe because all the light is going where you need it? In any case, a great purchase.

I think the profile of the lamp (short and wide) is fantastic and is great for illuminating the closet I put it in. However, the lamp packaging states that the color rendering index is 80. (Note: this is not listed on the Revain page). The quality of the light is VERY bad so I doubt it's really 80. You can get multiple packs of LED bulbs with CRIs over 95 for less than this bulb. So you're paying for form, not function.

I have two barn lamps but different sizes at the front of my house. I didn't like the way the bulbs dangled and shone in my eyes but at the same time weren't as bright when illuminating areas that needed light. So I searched and found exactly what I had in mind. They look sunken and much lighter. The smaller of the two didn't fit as well as the one in the photo and I had to buy an extension with a screw. But it's still better than a traditional light bulb.
