Works as intended in cases

So far so good. The case went on three different fishing trips and so far there have been no problems with it. Has not been submerged in water but tested in water beforehand. I recommend removing the batter if using an external one to avoid overheating and condensation.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • So far so good

Serves its purpose

I use it on my kayak for constantly running videos while fishing. I haven't submerged it in water and I don't intend to test the waterproofness that way. So far this has served its purpose. I'm not giving 5 stars because the connector has to be screwed in and out every time the camera is inserted or removed from the waterproof case. You need to create a faster connection design.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • No power

Works great: camera and photo

I used it to mount my camera to the rail of a boat on the Shannon River in Ireland to capture daytime time lapses. I used some 10ft USB extenders which I taped around so I could connect to the boat's power supply. It worked so well I bought a second one and use both with backup batteries for kayaking and other activities where I need longer battery life. Although I've never fully submerged the case in water, I can say that it performs well in a downpour with strong winds.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options

The case works well, the cables are another story.

I bought two of these cases in March 2019. The case is a nifty concept and comes with multiple cables as advertised. I use weatherproof cables running from a rechargeable battery (sold separately) (micro-USB to USB-B) for the GoPro. After a few months of use it has already stopped connecting to the GoPro Hero 3 and 4 I use it with. There are no additional cables of this type that come with the kit. BEWARE IF this happens and when it does it will render the waterproof cables useless.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not sure

Great for use in any weather

While I'm working from home, I wanted to set my GoPro camera outside to take long shots here in Orlando. It was the beginning of the rainy season. I left it outside for about a week and it's holding up well. It rained several times, everything was dry inside. Not sure if it's fully submerged as it was mounted outside on a window and only exposed to rain. But I'm quite satisfied. I've read comments about the strength of the cable when screwed in (obviously it can expose wires when screwed in)…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Electrical outlet required

Battery records hot footage for 20 minutes and stops

Yesterday I tested the 1.5m cable with 3 different USB battery packs (waiting to pack them up for the final test). I couldn't get the GoPro to work without first installing the original battery by turning on your GoPro and then connecting the 1.5m cable. GoPro (Black Hero 3) shows loading and I can start recording. GoPro recorded for about 20 minutes and then turned off. The battery becomes VERY HOT. I made sure the GoPro is plugged into the 1 amp port. Then I tried port 2.1a but I had the same

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Vulgarity
