That's a lot of money for something that failed in less than 2 years

Bought less than 2 years ago with a Dell laptop and it's already broke. It looks like it doesn't have enough pieces to break it that quickly. More than a disappointment. I was had! But do I have a choice about having a printer and a mouse and a keyboard and a scanner and cardscan and a separate drive and a Palm?

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

No support in Targus

Tried using this with XP - forget it! There are no drivers in Targus, even the hub couldn't find them by searching! Most of the connections worked, but not the serial port I originally intended to use it for as my laptop doesn't have one and I needed to support my Palm Pilot. on flash. If they support their products like that, I will not buy Targus branded products again. Don't waste your time.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Unreliable

DO NOT buy this port replicator!

NO support from Targus. Does not work properly with an Ethernet connection. I can't find out if it actually supports USB 2.0 - probably not as far as I can find. getting the PS/2 and keyboard ports working, which I really wanted/needed it for. I bought it from an Amazon retailer and will try (yes, right) to return it. What junk. Mine came second hand, scratched, without the original driver CD.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • High price

Good service, product was larger than expected

The device is slightly larger than it appears in the picture. It seems to work fine except for the ethernet port which doesn't work with my Windows 7 OS.

Very unreliable in computers and accessories

Very unreliable hardware. Works for a while but regularly loses ports, keyboards etc. Only buy this product if you enjoy restarting your computer every few hours to recover your keyboard, mouse or other ports. In addition, some manufacturers claim that this is a "dock", but it is not. It's just a port replicator.

  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Disappearance

Very handy device well suited for computers and accessories

I bought two of these, one for home and one for the office for my Dell laptop. Works like a champ with USB mouse and PS/2 keyboard. In addition to these two, I use a network port at the office and a parallel port at home. It's very nice to be able to connect one cable instead of three and reduce clutter on my desk. I had to download the 2.3 driver from Targus. It worked better than the included 2.4 driver.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Negative

DO NOT buy this port replicator!

NO support from Targus. Does not work properly with Ethernet connection. The PS/2 ports and keyboard are finally working, which is what I really wanted and needed. I bought it from an Amazon retailer and will try (yes, right) to return it. What junk. Mine came second hand, scratched, without the original driver CD.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • There are bugs

Not as PDA compatible as advertised

I bought this unit to connect my Palm V serial port cradle to my new laptop which only has USB ports. Not the best choice. The device "has" a MANUAL RESET BUTTON that must be pressed for 5 seconds each time the computer wakes up from sleep mode to restart the ports. Its drivers aren't smart enough to do it themselves. (Forget putting the hub out of sight to clear up the mess.) Even with the reset button, I often had to kill and restart the Palm Hotsync manager to get it to communicate with the…
