With this I hooked up the trailer brakes in 10 minutes!

I did some research and this is a plug and play trailer brake adapter for my 2018 Tacoma. Installs in minutes. Before this adapter was found, the local pickup truck shop charged over $300 to install the same brake controller. I'm getting in for about $140 and 10 minutes to install.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Negative impression

Perfect for 2015 Toyota Tundra

It wasn't easy. Used this to install a 2015 Toyota Tundra and couldn't be easier. Open the panel to the right of the handlebars, plug in the prefabricated wiring harness, connect it to the Tekonsha controller, replace the panel, find the ground connection, screw the controller directly under the panel, complete with the trailer. Excellent suspension, completely plug and play.

Pros
  • Tough finish
Cons
  • Protection

Easy installation, leader in lighting and electrical engineering

Used to connect my Prodigy 3 to my 2015 Tundra. The factory connector is hidden behind a panel that has a VSC button and possibly a tow/traction button. Simply use a flat head screwdriver to pry the plate out and you will find a factory connector/harness that plugs directly into the adapter. I decided to purchase a replacement Prodigy 3 dashboard to install a brake controller. As for the white ground wire, I pulled out the panel under the steering wheel and attached the ground to a stud on the…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Works if you get the right product.

If this is an option at the time of purchase, do not buy it used if you need it quickly as you will roll the dice which model # you will get. I ordered it used and received a package that said 3031-P, but the wire harness had a sticker that said 3040. I could also clearly see that the connector was not a 3031-P style and didn't fit my 2017. I ordered it used again thinking it was just an accident. I received another 3040 in a box marked 3031P. Not in a hurry and wanting to get the best price on

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Vulgarity

2019 with Tekonsa controller installed Taco

made a few years ago) and was a bit concerned about the extra ground wire that according to several forums is required for this setup and that comes with this adapter. This adapter with an additional ground wire is very easy to install. I was able to make a solid floor WITHOUT drilling holes, there was a handy existing screw in the chassis next to the harness connector. I was able to assemble without drilling. Have used the controls on a couple of short runs with a livestock trailer and…
