Tianken 500G Hard Drive External Review

This is a normal 360 HDD but I don't see very good performance in loaded games. Pretty low frame rate - not sure if it's just a feature of the 360 or if it's the hard drive. So I decided to rip it apart and see what the specs of the hard drive were. Never heard of this brand (see photo), maybe some of you have one. In hindsight, I wish I could just buy a 7200rpm hard drive and put it in an existing case.

Hard drive is ok - love the capacity it offers my old XBOX 360. The only problem is that it is a compatible model. It was very difficult for me to install it on my XBOX. The grooves don't seem to line up properly and I've never had a problem with my other original XBOX discs. But at least now I have no reason to remove the hard drive. In that sense I am very satisfied. Don't forget to buy a hard drive transfer cable to get data from old drives.

I read these reviews saying it doesn't work and they get some kind of error message or it's not formatted properly but I bought it because Microsoft doesn't offer any official disk on Revain. Despite all the bad reviews, everything works for me. No loud fan or acceleration noise, formatted up to 290GB, which is to be expected since some data will be lost when formatting hard drives.
