Traveled to Africa for a documentary. They were PERFECT for those super hot days with no shade and lots of reflective sand. I could even use the darkest one on my big 1.4 sensor and it met my needs just fine.

Pros
  • Annual Trial
Cons
  • Crumpled

ND filters are really great and do the job they were designed to do.

ND filters are really great and do the job they are designed and marketed for. I like this set because I can experiment with which filters to use in a given situation. I'm still learning but love the fact that they do what is advertised. I recommend the kit to anyone who needs ND filters.

The filters arrived and the glass was broken on the edge. It basically looked like putting on cover. Luckily this doesn't show up on the meter as I live in South Korea and don't want the hassle or waiting around of returning it for a replacement. The filters work well too. The color cast was minimal, as was the vignetting. Usually it was the same with two folded.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Some defects

Good but Green Tint

I use these on my 1DX Mark II with 24-105 and 70-200 f2.8 IS II lenses. I've noticed a "green cast" when manually adjusting the camera's white balance using Kelvin or presets. Auto white balance works well and colors are very similar compared to using a filter. There is a bit of loss of sharpness with these filters, but they hold up much better than other brands. I'd have no hesitation in recommending these filters, but be aware that video white balance can be a bit tricky.

Longer shutter speed and smaller aperture

I have been using Tiffen ND filters for a number of years. I used a 67mm filter and recently upgraded lenses that required a 77mm ND filter. They are great for my landscape photography, mostly against the backdrop of the setting sun. Lower aperture and shutter speeds allow for more detail in the final image. There are much more expensive and cheaper filter systems out there, but for my needs as a hobby photographer, a Tiffen product offers a lot of value for a well-made product.

Pros
  • Good to use
Cons

Good filters after I cleaned them

Filters are good what I expected. I was disappointed that the filters turned out to be a set that was returned to the seller and then resold. The filters were dirty and had fingerprints on them. They weren't wrapped in paper or a plastic bag. Threads of fabric were caught between the frame and the glass. I managed to clean them and they don't look damaged. I saved them and used them with good results. Just disappointed that they don't appear to be new.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Worth it for the price and performance

I bought this for my Nikon full frame system. I have used Tiffen ND filters in the past and they have performed exactly as expected. The color might not be perfect, but it's easy enough to correct in post if the exposure is done right. There's a slight tint that increases somewhat as you switch to darker filters. The price justifies the small compromises. To get similar results, I've had to spend a lot more in the past. I always like to have a set in my camera bag when I'm shooting, and I'm…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Concise manual

Good value for money, useful filter set

I wanted to experiment with slower shutter speeds that require an ND filter, but didn't want to invest in premium black and white filters. This set of Tiffen costs about $65 for three useful filters. This set contains 0.6, 0.9, and 1.2 density filters that reduce exposure by 2, 3, and 4 stops, respectively. In my opinion this is more useful than a set of 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9 as 0.3 only reduces the exposure by one stop and if you are in a situation where you need an ND filter for need a slower…
