I really like these shoes for my daughter but there is definitely no perfect medium size. I originally ordered 5-5.5 which I had to return as it was too small. Her fingers were right on the toe of the shoe. So sent it back and ordered size 6-7. They're a bit big for her and have a little more wiggle room than I would like right now, but I don't mind because she'll have some time with that. Great little shoes. I got them for my 2 year old first beach trip. She happily wore them all day long, from surfing to the sidewalk to the pool. Since that trip, she often wears them as outdoor shoes instead of her normal tennis shoes. She can even wear them over her socks. I chose this one over the other models in the hope that the little felt protector on the tip would help keep the elastic material from tearing if she stumbled on the pavement.
