Good lighting, buy plumbing fittings

Easy to install if you have done the wiring beforehand and have an attic/open access. Tools I recommend: Drywall handsaw, 4" or 6" house cutters, wire cutters, tape (to further secure the wires, and WIRE FITTINGS! Yes, they didn't come with fittings, so we're talking sheet metal, not wire sheathing Fittings are not supplied so although I already have them installed I will be removing them shortly to put in pipe fittings to see if they will last a few years.

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Functionality

Great product, great company and great service

When I first bought these LED downlights I was a little nervous that their brightness wouldn't be enough, but I was really amazed at their light output. The looks, the dimmable range and the low power consumption make these lamps a real winner in my opinion. Initially I had trouble getting them to work at all when I realized the dimmer I bought was faulty, not the fault of the lamps themselves. In the meantime I've emailed Torchstar about the problem I was having , and to my delight, Nicole…

Very easy to install and looks great!

This is my second set of thin Torchstar bulbs. I bought this 4 pack for my son's bedroom. Easy to install, simply use a template to cut a hole, match the colors of the wires on your Romex, secure, close the box and lift, bend the spring clips and plug in the light into the hole. If I HAVE to find a minus it would be that sometimes when using 12-2 wiring and a mid-range light the box seems a bit small and if you don't clamp everything properly the door will open. It would also be cool if they…

Pros
  • 💡Reliable Construction: Unique waterproof plugs and sockets make it great. The IC protection grade allows this lamp to touch the insulation, so you don't have to worry about it overheating and catching fire.
Cons
  • Available in black only.

Not as good as expected for Torchstar

I discovered Torchstar recessed lights a few years ago on a small renovation project. On my current project I bought the Jullison brand to save a few bucks but the audible "buzz" inspired me to return them and buy Torchstar products because of the good experience I had and the dimming range ( allegedly) is only 5 units. % (most boring to 10%). Unfortunately the quality was not what I had experienced with previous Torchstar purchases. Few issues, but being a basic product I couldn't help but…

  • 💡Ultra-Thin Lighting: This ultra-thin LED downlight only takes up 2 inches of ceiling space, perfect for ceilings that don't fit the housing. Metal spring clips hold the light in place, making installation easy and ensuring long life.
Cons
  • Unsure.
