Not quite 3000k: Body & Trim Kits

Bought these with some other Torchstar lights, both listed as 3000k but when fitted with the larger version they are a different colour . So not sure which ones are the right color but remember and stick to the same brand and type when installing.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Awesome DIY 4 " Downlight

I installed 7 of these in our kitchen to light up the countertops and stovetop. They are easy to install. The color temperature is not quite 2700K for me. We have other 2700K LEDs and they are cooler than this one. I would say closer to 3000k. Still considered "warm" but not as warm as other brands of recessed LEDs. I wish they had a temperature selector but for the price I'm not complaining at all. Excellent quality, recommend to a friend, I will buy again!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Ease of maintenance

Good quality CRI for electrics

I like the color temperature of 2700K. Color rendering CRI is 90+ as advertised. I hate when people ignore CRI and end up with ugly LEDs that don't show true color. They also have good flicker free power supplies. A circuit in my house that the power supply made was causing an audible hum through my stereo. To fix this, make sure all audio equipment is on one side of the 120V and you can fit switches for the lights on the other side. Or use ground loop isolators. Higher quality power supplies…

  • Elegant design

Easy to install and look great.

I bought the lights from Lowes and paid about $18 each for them. They adjusted the intensity of the color. The problem was that they didn't sit properly in the ceiling. I sent them back with no problems and was looking for a light that was similar in design but better suited and didn't have the weight of Utilitech downlights. This was a great option because they go into the ceiling and stay tidy. I also already knew what color intensity I wanted. Buying with customization is useless. Just…

Pros
  • Best in their niche

The driver will fail sooner or later.

The first batch is still alive (about 2 years) The second batch: 1) one of the 12 drivers was defective, flickers when dimming 2) the seller quickly replaced it, there are no problems. Didn't help 3) another replacement was also very quick and didn't work either. 4) Since I ordered more than I originally needed, I just didn't bother swapping out drivers. 5) After a month one of the installed drivers crashed. 6) Today I finally took apart the 2 replacement drivers I received - they work but the…

  • There are other interesting options.
