Loved the included trim chart!

Works as described. I get an SWR of around 1.6 if my meter is accurate. Adjust the antenna to the desired frequency. Apparently good quality. So far there are no problems.

Pros
  • Not cheap but worthy
Cons
  • There are cons

Great performance for the price.

Selected for mobile use in the company car. They don't want me mounting the antenna through the roof like I have on my truck. This little antenna works very well. I was impressed with the reception I had for the price.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Well made very good price

We are using them for a land mobile application on one frequency. The stainless steel mast is easy to remove, but requires a cutting wheel to trim. It's too thick for anything but a really big bolt cutter. The SWR is 1.2 on our frequency (164 MHz band). The magnet sticks well to the steel roof.

Pros
  • Good item
Cons
  • So far so good

Fantastic antenna: antennas

This antenna is fantastic, especially for the price. I use it for Search and Rescue (SAR) communication, it connects directly to my Kenwood mobile radio and works as expected. The magnet is strong and I've slammed the top of the antenna onto many garage roofs in just a few weeks and it's holding up great.

Pros
  • availability
Cons
  • too stupid

Does exactly what it's supposed to do

I have this as a car antenna for my 2m 5W handheld radio. It was easy to set up, you will need an SWR meter and a hacksaw to cut the antenna in small increments. This antenna easily doubles the range of a rubber boot mounted car antenna. I have friends who use it effectively with much more powerful radios. I was a little apprehensive about this as the antenna is attached to the magnet base with a single Allen key, but it went through a couple of trees with no problems.

  • Certified
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Great Antenna: Antennas

which I bought to use with a scanner that listens for planes, PD etc. It's a very well made antenna with a strong magnet holding it in place. It comes with a frequency/length conversion table. So if you hear a specific frequency, you can shorten the length of the whip to that exact frequency. (Note: the whip metal is very strong so you will need to hold it in a vise and have a good hacksaw to cut it.) Designed for frequencies from 136 to 512MHz. However, I can hear the local highway patrol just

Works great with Uniden Home Patrol and BCD396XT Updated 11/28/2013

Just a small note, this works great right out of the box when placed on a south facing window in my location. with a diagram where you can fine tune the antenna by cutting off a small section of the antenna. It also includes a small Allen key to tighten the antenna after you cut it. I'm in a remote location 25 miles from the nearest signal. Level 1-2 I went straight to 6 with 100% yellow quality bars and peak activity at 10 solid. I had an adapter to connect it to the radio. Finally I checked…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
