I've never installed carpet before but figured I could save a few bucks. This iron is really good and stolen for the price. I considered renting but was able to purchase this for almost the same price. This also worked well and my stitches came out fine considering these were my first attempts at sewing rugs.

Don't waste your time on this product if you're rolling the dice for whatever reason and if you buy this one make sure you put the iron on the heat shield a few times before switch on the iron. The clips that keep the iron off the sign are poorly made and ended up burning my rug, forcing me to buy more rug. Do yourself a favor and buy a quality product.
