I wouldn't count on it, but it's not too bad, especially for the price. It's not as accurate as a good lenstatic ground navigation compass, but close enough to general north. I wouldn't use bearing on this thing because it's not accurate enough, nor did I expect it to be surprisingly accurate for the price. These compasses are a good deal as I have previously bought a similar compass for about $5 for just one; here you get four. The compass mentioned had a bubble that was constantly expanding and preventing the dial from rotating. These compasses appear to have no bubbles at all - a good sign. I compared these compasses with my GPS compass, my Brunton Brunton Classic compass (9020G) and two Suunto SUUNTO M-9 mechanical compass compass watches.
