These lights stay on for a long time if they get enough sunlight. If they get enough sunlight, they're pretty bright too. Solar lights are solar lights. I've never seen them very bright or long lasting. I am considering returning them. These lights are absolutely amazing. The balls look like nice broken glass, but they're made out of really thick, durable plastic. And they complement my hammock so well! I gave these two stars a rating but upped it a star because they are very very pretty when the lights are actually on. I also liked their big solid spherical shape. The reason for the low rating is that they only run for about an hour after you turn them on. When I originally received them (they must have been fully charged) they stayed overnight until the next morning. We don't have a way to power the lights outside for the Christmas decorations so this was great for us. Not as bright as some battery or plug-in options, but still looks great. They currently only get a few hours of sun a day and last 4 to 6 hours in the evenings. I like that they just turn themselves on when it gets dark and then when they run out of power they turn off.
