Brake problems fixed

I have a 1998 Subaru Legacy with an EJ257 hybrid engine. I didn't have a check valve for the brake booster, so every time the car went into boost mode the brake booster would build up pressure and make noise. There were also no power brakes when boosting. It solved all problems cheaply.

Pros
  • Check valves
Cons
  • New competitors

So far so good!: Parts

Used to replace a rusted (almost completely destroyed) check valve on my 2004 VW Passat Wagon 1.8T (the one above and behind the airbox). The seller wanted forty-five dollars just for the part (not including the ultra-simple installation work, which I'm sure would have cost a pretty penny).

  • Exhaust & Emissions
Cons
  • Disappearance

An affordable check valve that really works

Audi check valves cost over $30. I've tried other non-OEM benchmarks on Amazon that couldn't hold a vacuum when tested (and were returned), these UROs were the only ones that actually worked. They maintain charge pressure and vacuum. Don't take the others you see on Revain, take these

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options
