Vance Hines Touring Accessories 71029 Review

I have always used V&H parts and this purchase has never disappointed me. Sucks a lot of air, the best part is you can use a standard cap.

Unit protrudes MUCH further than the drain. If you use a standard AC cap, it sticks out even more. Suitcases are overpriced. Returned this product and bought an HD AC.

Poorly made air cleaner mounting plate. The powder coating/paint is in the screw holes and even after I inserted and removed the screws to clean them I was still having issues. A screw got stuck and broke when trying to unscrew it. It took about a week to get replacement parts from V&H.

Easy installation. Be careful with the rubber hoses, thread them through the top hole in the plate and wrap them around the air intake neck (in front of the silver cone). If you don't stretch them it won't look right and you'll splatter oil all over the engine. After that everything went fine and you need to install a bracket to use the standard HD air intake cover.

Loved it! I read some reviews saying it would stick out a little further than standard and complaints that it bothered them because it was on their leg. I didn't really notice it and I liked that I could use the storage lid. I should mention that I used Kuryakyn 3/4 spacers without which I could have noticed the difference.

Nicely made product with great fit and finish. However, I bought it because I wanted to fit a stock 2015 airbox cover to the bike. Once installed I was able to use the front half of the airbox cover. Because the air filter on this product sticks out several inches, you can now see the unsightly throttle body. I don't like this look at all. Not sure if I'll leave it at that and do some mods to hide the throttle body or go back to the stock airbox. The time will show.

At higher speeds I can definitely say that my Harley 103 has more speed. I can only recommend) the engine sounds great, it gets a lot of air, a lot of exhaust gas, and when I step on the gas I notice that the speed increases faster. Not a dynamometer or anything but a great addition to this Harley Stage 1. *Changing the air intake will mess up your air/fuel ratio. I highly recommend getting a programming tuner (Vance & Hines let me connect my exact hardware by name) and an exhaust. (Also…
