The best remote control I've ever had (and the worst).

Bought for a friend for Christmas after he expressed an interest in time lapse photography, I've only heard good things from him about it. In the past I have criticized Vello because (and maybe it's just me) to me they just died after moderate use, I'm on my 6th in about 6-7 years. But until I hear otherwise, this particular Vello is great for my friend!

Pros
  • Set timer delays and intervals | Set number of shots/unlimited shooting | 4 line LED backlit display
Cons
  • Damaged

Great product for long exposures

I have used this for all types of photography. The attached sunset photo was taken with this remote control. I calculated the exposure time using several filters, turned on the time for the timer and pressed the button. Worked as expected. If I take the zipper off at night, I don't even turn it on. It also works without electricity. Just press the button and it works like an analog trigger. Every landscape and long exposure photographer should have this in their bag! Good price

Pros
  • Shoot without camera shake | Ideal for time-lapse photography | Powered by two AAA batteries
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

I loved using this remote but it broke while I was in Zion National Park. The inner part with connections is made of plastic that has crumbled. I use the wired remote for full credit engagement all the time, but I haven't been reckless with it. I think the important part of the connector was very cheap plastic. After this disaster I bought a second device, mainly due to the lack of choice to get it before the linear eclipse. That plug didn't even fit the assigned plug.

Pros
  • For Nikon/Fuji/Kodak DSLRs with a 10-pin connector | Wired remote control | Power off and reset options
Cons
  • A little torn
