Great cable at a great price

I bought it instead for use with LaView's new IP based security system (see my review ) comes with the system and I have to say it's a great cable at an amazing price. It's well weatherproof, not as bulky as a siamese cable (the old analogue security system) and very easy to thread through holes. After removing the cover and straightening the wires, I simply connected the connectors. I ran cables for 12 cameras in one day with no problems, and none of them had video quality issues.

Pros
  • Exceeds TIA/EIA-568-C.2, CSA and ISO/IEC 11801 specifications
Cons
  • Unreliable

High quality wire strong and durable works great

I have purchased and used two spools of this Cat5e copper cable and am very happy with them. Both boxes were used to mount surveillance cameras (Hikvision to be precise), all powered via Ethernet (POE). Some of the cable has been exposed to the sun and elements, and some is in cable ducts, both of which work great. The wire is slightly thicker than a Category 5e indoor cable, but pulls through with ease. This is solid copper wire (NOT copper clad aluminum) which is much preferred over CCA andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • UTP Cat 5e 350Mhz UV Resistant Cable 1000ft Length
Cons
  • Long Delivery Time

Good quality. I've installed this "same" cable (wrapped around the carrier cable for physical support) on outdoor overhead power lines for three to four years with no problems (except for a segment of the cable that was damaged by lightning). I recently bought another 1000 feet. Box with this presumably same cable, and it's only been installed for about a month (so far with no known problems). However, I did notice some subtle differences in the new cable box compared to the old one: 1. Theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Uniform length markings on jacket
Cons
  • Cord shorter than others
