Streamline Your Energy Monitoring with Victron Energy VE.Direct to USB Interface Review

Connected quickly. Phone monitoring is a fantastic feature for me. I've had bad experiences with other brands. I highly recommend this charge controller. Save yourself the headache and buy Victron.

Price and length make it useless. I bought a couple of USB serial drives with the right chip and connectors/wires and made 4 29ft cables for the price for them. They came across a pi3 running Venus Great OS. I returned it. I don't blame the seller, the price is set by Victron.

I needed to add a remote display device to my Venus controller, but the ve.direct connection ports were already full. I bought a pair of ve.direct to USB cables to make my controller location visible. After I connected what I needed, it showed up immediately. Recommendations for using the hub to add more if needed. Unfortunately, all my hubs went through.

So this item works as intended but the software that comes with it doesn't allow history to be captured so when connected to my BMV 702 it doesn't really suit my needs. Basically it makes my computer just a second display so it only shows real time data. I assume it will show the history of the MPPT controllers but the cable is too short to reach them on the other side of my boat. I used it to connect a Victron 150/35 mppt charge controller to a Raspberry Pi 3 b+ running Victron Venus OS version 2.70. This is beta software, but it also supports Bluetooth connections between other devices. This cable is plugged in and working with no drivers or issues. I also have a 10ft USB3. Works perfectly!

I have used 6 of these cables with a Raspberry Pi 3B+ running the latest Venus OS. The 3 cables connect to a simple USB hub as the Pi only has 4 USB ports. Works great when I connect all my Victron hardware to the RasPi. quality cable. I can now run VRM locally or over the web to view, change and update all my Victron equipment.
