Yellow VTech Singing Monkey Rattle - Lil' Critters Review

I love this toy, it has a lot of sounds/songs for a toy of this size/price. I find myself singing with him. I got this for my 6 month old and he loves the plastic rings at the bottom, he learned to use them on his sweater so he knew how to play with them and now a month later he's learning how you spin the ball. I wish the speaker was in the front or there was an option to make it louder, he usually plays with it on the floor so the sound can be a bit muffled in the carpet.

My almost 4 month old was obsessed with this toy. When we first received it a few weeks ago, it was confusing because it was making random noises when turned on. We put him on hold for a while and then reintroduced him and now he's in love. This forced him to use both hands and hit both objects on the side of the toy while doing tummy time. I ended up returning two of these. In general, I'm always happy with VTech toys, so I find these purchases just unusual. A monkey had trouble painting its snout. No, I didn't want a smeared nose. When I was looking for a comfortable toy with sound, I hesitated between this one and baby Einstein Take Along Tunes Toy which could be more popular. I finally decided on this one out of curiosity. I'm not sure all those good toys are as easy as this one. There are only a few melodies or modes. My main concern is that I don't think it's a 3+ as the material is very hard and my kid grabs it and keeps slapping it in the face.
