Excellent! I carry the reader between 4 computers as well as a laminated sheet of codes I use most often. Reading 128A, 32, 39 and zip code. I just used the guide to scan the codes I'm going to use and that's it.

The scanner can read UPC and other barcodes of the same size. We had to read the serial number codes on phone packaging, but it didn't have enough resolution to read anything less. (This was confirmed by calling the manufacturer.)

Just plug the device into your computer's USB port and the scanner is ready to scan barcodes. It can be configured to always keep the scanner beam on, allowing you to mount the device to your desk and scan documents with both hands. While I expected more from the distance you can scan a barcode (sometimes less than 1 inch depending on the size of the barcode), I think this is a good product considering the price.
