Westcott 2003 32 Inch Optical Umbrella Review

This umbrella was recommended to me by a friend who knows how to look for quality gear without breaking the bank. This works very well. I'm in the market for another.

Used with SB700 as back light, wonderful light, directional, controllable and efficient with TTL. Easy to take with you, whatever comes. Also use it in the studio as a light to shoot through hair, again the size keeps spread to a minimum, just a soft burst of light.

I bought this umbrella for outdoor photography. I used to use a 60" wing but it was very bulky and flew away in the slightest breeze. I found this to be the perfect size for flash use. It diffuses the light nicely without losing too much energy. Pretty solid for the money.

I do portrait and product photography in my home studio. Didn't need a lot of umbrellas overhanging the room. I've used them in college dorms and love them so far. I bought new ones to finally replace the old ones. The mechanism is strong and reliable. The light reflection is great. Love the sleeve to hold it up with velcro. Best of all they fit in my 24" lighting case so I can pack them up and carry them around :)
