Not all server shelves are the same. It's heavy, almost perfectly balanced, has a perfect anti-slip surface and is fun to work with. Can't comment on durability as this is a new purchase but based on the build quality I expect it will last a long time.

Nice tray but I bought this for cocktail work and after training with a larger tray with a smaller one it just didn't work for me after adjusting mine Center tip cup, we carry 8-12 drinks/beers at a time and water bottles so this tray isn't big enough but a good tray if you're looking for a smaller tray.

We bought this tray as a "napkin" for a sloppy cat. We considered getting a 16-inch tablet instead, but this 14-inch model proved perfectly adequate (a few squirts from it hit the rim but didn't go further). Initially, the non-slip surface smelled like old rubber tires (hence the smell, I assume), but after a short time (maybe a few months?) the smell dissipated and the cat bowl stayed centered even when enthusiastically licking its lips - that's one of the reasons , why we didn't need a bigger
