My first work with copper weld, love it!

I was afraid it would melt too quickly as some wrote but I haven't had any problems with the filter connections throughout the house. no leaks with a simple propane torch. Lead-free. And I like the idea that it's water soluble to reduce corrosion.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

Good solder flow

Appears to melt at very low temperatures and flows very well over dry fittings. But I can't tell you if it's worth the price difference compared to antimony solder. I spent half a roll and a full tank of MAPP gas to solder a pipe that appeared to have some water in it. The solder continued to build up and fall off the fittings. (It is not possible to merge this setting.)

Pros
  • Surprising
Cons
  • Some flaws

Good for "soft soldering "

Good for soft soldering, as in the (big) book "Alchemy of Soldering". It's nice and thick, which is good for this process, and spreads well. Once I get more experience with soft soldering I'll probably try other lead-free solders, but I don't want to try anything else and get frustrated, so I'll keep using that for now. Soldered jewelry with a different solder, possibly with silver content, please let me know!

Pros
  • Freehand
Cons
  • Very expensive
