I used a hair straightener to patch a huge hole in my work pants. Canvas work shorts are expensive. I'm glad I was able to put the patch inside AND outside of the gap. The ironing process is simple: apply a hot iron (no steam). The shorts have been washed in hot water and dried at high temperature and the patch is holding up. I will definitely use these patches again if I have a tear.

I've been using iron-on patches for years and bought them locally but was limited by the sizes available. I found these patches and found that the size was exactly what I needed, after buying and using it I would not recommend it, the glue is very poor, the patch did not hold up to washing after proper ironing, I have my jeans patched for years and knows how to buy on the patch's website has been neutered after numerous washes before having to iron it again. They lengthen your jeans but I can't give them five stars as the edges start to peel after about a dozen washes. But let's get this straight - you use them on jeans that just aren't ready to be thrown away, right? So still the best alternative. And don't forget to air dry your jeans - don't throw them in the dryer unless you're using a very low heat. If they peel off a bit, you can always try ironing the edges again.
