I bought these shoes in 3 sizes for my 9 year old son who is very careful about his shoes. Firstly they are attractive in bright blue and gray which contrast well and my son loved wearing them because of that. He has a relatively normal foot and the shoe fits him comfortably, with support and everything it should be. My grandkids are very picky about their shoes and they've switched quite a few off-brand pairs this year. This is the prettiest couple and looks set to last the rest of the school year. The sole is big and thick so my grandson doesn't wear holes in the sole. He likes that it makes him taller. :) Velcro is great for those just learning how to tie shoelaces. And the light blue is a nice contrast to the grey. My grandson gave them two thumbs up and said they looked "super cool". Really big praise!

I live on sandy gravel roads and it's hard to find good hiking shoes for short, wide feet. That is the answer. The fit is comfortable and the wide toe box really helps. The grip on the bottom keeps me from slipping and sliding over gravel and sand, even on steep slopes. And most importantly, they don't catch gravel in the treads like my other hiking shoes do.
