The complaint that the light is on ONE side is also incorrect and is not considered a "defect". -- If you've ever studied in a real college library (where there are a lot of banker's lamps), they're ALL like this - they're made for ONLY one lamp! The only adjustment the manufacturer has to make is that they say a 40w bulb is MAX, but if you read the label on the socket that the bulb goes in it's standard 60w - you so can use a 60w bulb with it and don't limit yourself to a dim light of 40 watts. Overall I LOVE the "click" sound when pulling the chain (gives a nice feeling) and helps me focus more on work. It offers generous lighting which I prefer to the very "focused" light that most modern lamps have. Also, I prefer the standard amber bulb over the "white light" LED bulbs that mimic hospital lighting. These lights are actually more of a strain on the eyes.
