Review on Trend DWS/LF/100 Diamond Abrasive Lapping Fluid, 3.4 fl oz: Blue Solution for Superior Diamond Polishing by Gus Gutierrez

Any guesses: power tools and hand tools

I'm new to diamond stones and lubes for them so I was looking for some info. Water is good or bad (rust). Water with soap or soap diluted with water. Oil or no oil? There are many concerns related to water, the ability to fully dry a diamond stone, and rust. Various oils raise concerns about their molecular thickness due to the size of diamonds and their nickel content. Your lube may be thick enough to fill your stone's jets, causing whatever you're sharpening to float above the diamond, reducing cutting action. The Krud Kutter came highly recommended by one source for being inexpensive, an ideal lubricant and an excellent diamond stone cleaner and rust remover. As I tried to read between the lines, I began to suspect that the water rust threat might be something of a scare tactic. The Krud Kutter seemed tempting and this trending lube is the only product made specifically for use with a diamond stone. Based on the idea that small things make a big difference, this trending product seems like the safest choice. In terms of cost, I don't know anyone who gives away quality diamond stones for free, so I will protect my investment with this trending product. As I gain experience I will reconsider the need to upgrade my 4 stars. One star deducted because the lid unscrewed itself and leaked as many others have claimed (what the heck?). I got lucky as it turns out not much leaked out so I'll save.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok
