Usually these types of plugs have a hole in the middle so if the screw goes deep enough they will expand and tighten into the wall. This is not the case. So if you try to drive a screw, it will stop at the end of the hole and then try to drive the anchor further into the wall itself. This means the screw must stop 1/4" from the anchor, so it will not work in applications where the thickness of the item being hung is less than 1/4". I had to throw them away after using one and went to Home Depot for a pack of the ones that have a slot.
