Review on Trex Hideaway Start Clips - 🔒 36 Pack for 400 sq. ft. Decking by Mitch Wright

Tried to install them last night and was able to line them up to my house. Installation seemed easy until I tried installing the panel. Half of the clamps would not allow the board to be seated and when I tried to adjust the clamps the screws started to loosen. After looking at the clips I had left over, I found that half the clips were shaped differently, and in order for them to work, most of them would have to be reshaped. If I spent $10 on them I wouldn't have a problem with them, but if you pay $40 I expect them to be ready to go. You would think they would box them up for about $40 as they do with their hidden fasteners to keep those fragile clips from bending and wrinkling during shipping. I ended up pre-drilling the Trex boards and installing the screws on the first board. The hidden mounts seem to work fine, but they use the same screws and the few I had to loosen slightly to adjust were beginning to come loose. I will no longer use this Trex device and will not recommend it to anyone.
