Review on Enhance Your Toyota's Safety with Pyle PLCMTOYOTA Infrared Rear View Backup Camera by Joshua Flake

Worked great for me!

Why it's "Toyota Vehicle Specific" I have no idea, although I installed it on a 2008 Toyota 4Runner about two years ago. It has worked flawlessly for the last two years and I have no reason to think it will fail any time soon. I live in the Pacific Northwest and with the extreme temperatures we face, not to mention the constant rain, this thing has seen it all and then some. As with anything like this, I strongly recommend testing the camera on a workbench prior to permanent installation. This not only confirms that it's working properly, but also gives you an idea of what the field of view will look like. Some things to watch out for: - Yes, colored guide lines will appear on the display, but if they are not set correctly. they won't matter much. If these lines are important to you, consider them when choosing a mounting location. Mine are weird and have nothing to do with reality. Although you can't see it in the photo, the camera's body is "square" so it protrudes past the mounting tabs on the back. When I bought it I was hoping the body would end up where the tabs are shown. This didn't happen so I had to cut the plastic fairing on my 4Runner to fit flush with the body. I don't see a way out, regardless of the vehicle, so I'd say that's the number one thing to consider when looking at this camera and the only reason I've deducted a star.
