I bought this printer along with 4 packs of toner and 2 packs of drums from other sellers on Revain so I had them all in stock. and ready when needed. I unpacked this printer and installed it on our network print server. Added it to the list of printers on my laptop. test print. Big! Checked copy. Big! Scan to email tested. Big! Wait, it has been turned off for the next 5 minutes. Tried scanning again, nothing. Tried to print, nothing. I was able to ping it and access the IP address through a web browser. But it showed as offline and I couldn't print or scan. Rebooted, scanned and everything worked. A few minutes later he was offline again. Make sure all "Timeout" options in Settings are set to Maximum. There are no dice. Factory reset, reinstalled under different IP, tried different drivers. There are no dice. I sent the seller a message asking for help troubleshooting, no response. I contacted Brother Support directly. They offered to test a few tweaks including a firmware update, tried anything they wanted without the dice. They went into our network firewall and checked some of the settings there, still boned. They suggested that our network was the problem and asked if I could try installing it on a different network/environment. No, I don't have another network to test with. We have 20-25 printers on our network including Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Brother, HP and Canon and have not had this problem with any other printer. So I had to return the printer (and all the extra toner and drums I ordered for it). I sent a message to Brother telling them I had sent it back as we had already spent 2 weeks troubleshooting to no avail. They didn't even acknowledge my last message to apologize or comment, they just closed the ticket on their page. I will no longer buy Brother printers. The car was junk and the support was just as bad. especially since I never received a reply to my original message to the actual seller. What's even more satisfying is that I ended up buying a Canon ImageClass D1620 as an alternative and it has worked flawlessly ever since. The Canon printer turned out to be a machine that Brother never saw again. I would advise you to buy a Canon instead.
