Review on 🔌 Sabrent Converter Prolific Chipset CB DB9P: Fast and Reliable Serial Port Adapter by Jessica Gibson

Bought to connect an old HP Agilent data logger to a new computer that doesn't have a serial port. Works great but keeps crashing (deleting the data file is useless). Installed updates to everything, reinstalled USB drivers, nothing helped. I finally read that the problem could be the performance of the chipset compared to the FTDI chipset. Bought a FTDI chipset converter and the problem was solved. So this device may work very well, but it didn't work for me and I will stick with devices with the standard FTDI chipset going forward unless I'm using performance spec hardware. Again - the issue might have been user related - maybe I should have known better but none of the troubleshooting guides suggested that I might need a different style. Plus - it was easy to install! And it was cheap. Their online technical support was pretty good too, but they never pinpointed the real cause.
