I have two door openers from circa 2004. I have them a Liftmaster 888LM added to use MyQ Home Bridge working with Apple HomeKit. Everything worked and the MyQ interface tells the bridge whether the door is open or not. That's why I wanted a HomeLink-enabled door opener to also be able to perceive the up-down signal. So I bought this opener and for each door with 888LM programmed a button on each door with the learn button on the 888LM (not the door lock itself) and then programmed the HomeLink buttons with 893Max and 888LM. HomeLink requires both: the first step with the 893Max and the second with the 888LM's learn button. When tuning the 893Max I used frequency setting 1 to send signals up and down. I found it confusing and had to take a risk and buy this controller to find out. Since both the 888LM and the opener itself can be programmed for the remote(s), I wanted to make sure that remote would communicate with the 888LM. For example, my old remotes only work with the door opener, but the MyQ Home Bridge and 893Max work with the 888LM.
