so far it has been a good buy. It smelled a little chemical at first, but I washed it (like a delicate one) and then air dried it. Sprayed with some Febreeze while drying and everything was perfect. What I like most about this protector is that you don't feel like you have a protector on your bed. The bodice is so, almost terry material. I haven't had any major stains on it (knocking pin) and I can't remember the last time I spilled something in bed, but I feel better having it there, if only for the reason that the mattress stays fresh . Especially in summer, when it gets hot enough and I sweat at night, I like being able to remove the protective film and wash it. And if something goes wrong, I can replace mattress pads much easier than mattresses. I will buy another one of these when I need a new or different size.
