Just used this in my 04 Tahoe to install an old Eclipse single din radio. To be honest, for the first 2 minutes I thought the negative reviews were true and the radio just didn't fit. Then I found that a bare head unit (no grommet etc.) is inserted from the back of the bracket and then the side brackets of this kit screw onto the head unit to hold it. Instead of inserting the radio from the front as usual and then fixing it with the factory radio cover. Overall, this is one of the best options I've used. If I had to list a few downsides, I'd say that the small brackets on the side could be a bit heavier/stronger, and they could hold a couple of full-size radio mounting screws. I already had a few screws on my old stereo and they worked fine, but it would be nice to have a few more.
