I have already bought, used and tested a Leviton 2711 plug which turned out to be much better quality than the cheap one that came with my alternator. I just tested this for connector compatibility and it seems to me to be a very good fit and probably a very good electrical connection. In fact, there was a click as I twisted the plug while the outlet on my generator was being "warmed up". At first I thought I was having trouble unplugging, but plugging and unplugging turned out to be more difficult than I expected. That's a very strong connection. It mounts in any standard electrical box and requires a pad with a 1.55" diameter hole (measured with vernier calipers).
