I was on a hike where I needed to take 2 kayaks, so I bought this case. Keep in mind the 2 kayaks I have are fishing kayaks which weigh about 70lbs each so are much wider and heavier than most. Before installing, I noticed that one of the screws/brackets wasn't tight enough to snap into place. When I looked closely, I found that the bolt and nut had snapped off and would no longer be tightened. I received this rack the day before I left so didn't have time to ask for a spare so instead used some extra straps to ensure both kayaks were securely attached to the rack and my car has a roof rack. The extra straps seem to do the trick. What I really like about it is that the vertical section folds horizontally when not in use. Hope the remaining screws hold. I will update if anything changes.
