This is the fourth or fifth pair of shoes I've bought this year looking for work shoes that won't leave me crippled in pain after half a day. . I have been very satisfied with this Dansko from the end of July until today. After 3 months of daily wear, working outdoors (gardening), the shaft in the toe area of both shoes began to detach from the sole. If you have foot problems these shoes are very comfortable and probably suitable for a less active lifestyle. At the same time, I encourage dansko to make a product that can keep up with the outdoor demographics, as many of the shoes I've worn don't offer dansko's support and cushioning. I am disappointed that they are falling apart given the very short wear time and premium price. However, I would pay even more for this level of support combined with a solid upper. Size 38 was perfect for my 8 foot height; To accommodate thicker socks or a roomier fit, consider going higher.
