Review on Amcrest NV4116-HS Network Video Recorder (16CH 720P/1080P/3MP/4MP/5MP/6MP/8MP/4K) - Supports up to 16 x 8-Megapixel IP Cameras, up to 6TB HDD Capacity (HDD Not Included) by Darby Perkins

My rating is for NVR Amcrest NV4116-HS. I've been using this machine for a couple of weeks. The device provides channels for recording video from 16 Amcrest security cameras to an internal hard drive. A separate POE switch is required to use POE cameras. An internal hard drive must also be provided and installed. I used a 4TB Western Digital Purple drive and it was easy to install. The device is small, light and has a fan, but it is not silent. This NVR doesn't support rack mounting, so I put mine on a 12" deep rack mounting shelf. This device will take a long time to set up, but once set up, it works well. You can access this NVR by connecting a monitor. and mouse directly on the device, via a web browser with a plug-in or with the free software Amcrest Surveillance Pro (which I prefer) for Windows or MAC With a smartphone application cameras on the NVR can be viewed in real time or camera recordings can also be viewed be played back. Push notification events are recorded on the DVR and can also be played back. This NVR compares well to other brands I've tried. Overall I like the device. The reason for 4 stars is that the built-in fan is a bit noisy and the firmware is a bit lacking in features, but this NVR does its job, so I can recommend it.
