If it is an old device, BUYER BEWARE! The paneling is great but the CARTRIDGE is INCLUDED and may be wrong

to make the paneling easy it's easy to install blah blah not worth leaving your own review , BUT it contains a cartridge that's big. However, if your valve is older than 2006, the cartridge WILL NOT WORK. Long story short I got this and trimmed my existing/working valve, it was sticking out a bit so I figured I might as well swap it out. Valves because the stem that the handle attaches to seems shorter. Removing the cover nut is an absolute pain. After playing around with it for about an hour, I used my dremel to cut it off and bought another one off Amazon. Now I take out the cartridge, pull it and click it, it breaks! The blue half was in the valve and the top half was in my hand. HOURS, literally HOURS of trying to figure it out, almost impossible. I give up at 11pm (NOT WHATEVER, WATER OUT THE HOUSE), the next morning I run to the store to get extra tools ($20) to remove this broken POS. I took it off and wanted to install the new one that came with this kit, HA, NOPE, it's the wrong size, it literally doesn't fit and I can't return it, I don't need it. Run out and spend $55 on a new valve. Install it and it will still be the same gap. THE BREAK WILL BE SAVED. All this wasted time and money because the old one broke but I could have left it there all along, the only reason I replaced it is because it came with the new one. This is more trouble than it's worth. So if your system is older than 2006 and you can solder the connections or hire a plumber to do it, I would DEFINITELY recommend just using a brand new faucet/trim if you're remodeling a shower (like I am). It would be a lot cheaper and would have newer parts.

Pros
  • Bathtub and shower paneling systems
Cons
  • Some small things
