Our dog takes heartworm/flea/tick medication every month but it has never worked against ticks so our vet recommended the prevention collar. He used to be great. They left the market a few months ago, maybe two years ago. I think they changed his formula back then. I bought this last spring and found it wasn't performing as well as it had in previous years. At the time I thought it might have been a bad year for ticks, but the collar never worked. This spring (2020) the Preventic collar didn't work at all. After a month with numerous ticks I called our vet and she said we could use a "regular" flea and tick collar in addition to the monthly medication and the new branded collar works MUCH better.
