Review on 🐠 Betta, Bowl, and Aquarium Hydor Slim Heater by Corina Doepke

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Raises the temperature by about 10 degrees

I originally got a 4w round heater for my betta bowl but it didn't heat it to the right temperature (maybe 5 degrees) so I have I opted for 7.5 W works great. I love the super slim shape which makes it easy to attach the heater to the back of my betta bowl behind a small filter that also attaches to the wall with a suction cup. A 7.5 W heater keeps the temperature constant between 77 and 81 degrees. . My Betta seems happier, much more active and eating more so I find the heating is a positive improvement. There are no temperature controls on the heater. So if you want to set a specific temperature, this may not be the case. heating for you. But if you're trying to raise the temperature by about 10 degrees in a small tank or aquarium, it should work fine. Some other reviews mentioned getting a shock when they put their hand in the water. This happened to me as a kid when we had a very patchy pump from a flea market in our pond. So I put my hand in the bowl of Betta to check and wasn't shocked. The instructions state that the heater must be unplugged before anything is plugged in, but I would like to point out that the heater is well made and designed to be submerged in water so it probably won't power you. But better safe than sorry - just unplug first. I am very happy with this little heater. It does exactly what I need, it's cheap and works great. If you are ripped between 4 and 7.5 I would monitor the water temp to see how much you need to increase and select the appropriate one.
