I often use toggles, especially on a table or bench with a dog hole, they are a must. They are also useful for a few other tasks. Before trying Powertec, I only used another brand, but it was more expensive. Having used the Powertec clamp for several months, I can't find any reason why it could be of lower quality compared to a more expensive competitor. I sometimes use them to attach chainsaw guide bars (T-Nut). Both brands fit guides from Festool, Makita and Powertec. Manufacturing and construction materials are sufficient and similar, a little more clamping depth on Powertec, slides easily, we can (so far) apply high clamping forces if necessary without any problems. The unlocking mechanism is easy without pinching your finger. Ergonomically, I like the other brand better because of the shorter ratchet travel and smaller clamping angle. This can be an advantage if you use it very often. The last remark may be subjective as I'm more used to another brand. All in all, the Powertec is the best buy for the average user in my opinion. I award 5 stars because of the best price/performance ratio in my comparison.
