Review on Nikon 35mm f/1.8G Auto Focus Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras - Black (Model 2183) by Aadam Rods ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money, I recommend.

I put 4 because there are no alternatives for that kind of money (I took it for 7 thousand, but it’s always easy to find it from hands for 5-5.5). Now I use the second such lens. The first one passed back after a week and a half of active use just because of the "hares". It was not possible to take pictures at shutter speeds of 1/30 and longer: if there was a lantern in the frame, then due to reflections, the same dimmer lantern appeared upside down somewhere in the corner. And the hood did not help much. If I took a photo at a very slow shutter speed of a night city, then I would definitely get additional lights in the form of a UFO in the frame, etc. The second one also catches, but it seems to be smaller (and I have already reconciled).

Pros
  • As many have already written: compact, lightweight, fast enough for its price, has good sharpness under certain conditions (starting from 2.8 and beyond), not expensive, convenient focal length, easy to sell, in general, an indispensable thing for a "screwless" camera
Cons
  • It gets dull in low light conditions, autofocus misses, sometimes you have to aim several times, and the most important thing for me: it constantly catches "hares" in the evening at slow shutter speeds, and I can say about bokeh that this is not the best side of this lens
