Ideal Wire Connectors

Overall this product works well for connecting wires to convert a 4ft beam from fluorescent to ballasted LED. With the ballasts removed and one set of tombstones (straight wire) and the other neutral (direct wire to tombstone) turned on, there were many connections to be made. The variety of cables to be connected and the large selection of lights in this product series have saved my wrist from twisting ordinary cable nuts. The connectors accept 12 gauge solid wire and several smaller stranded wires to make my connections. I was impressed that you can put different sizes of cable in the same socket and hold them all. This is difficult with strands. If the wire isn't strong enough, nothing will work. I think the best use would be for what I need them for or for extra wiring work around your house to quickly join wires of the same type and size. The only problem I see, and I know another reviewer mentioned, is that if you try to connect the last wire and twist the connector while trying to connect that last wire and some, the wire can get pulled out and twisted plugging in the other wires can start to come loose. I've noticed this on applications where the connected wire didn't have enough slack due to my fault, sometimes the wire connections were cut by a thread. Just do a very quick analysis so all your wires are fully inserted and leave it at that. It generally takes some practice to get used to how they work and what they can work well for. In general, you need a little practice and you will see great results. I also agree that they don't work well in applications where the wires can be taut, or in an atmosphere like vibration. If you leave a little extra wire slack, the wires should never go back.
