Perfect timer for me

I had a digital timer that cost $26 and had all the features - even auto-correct for Daylight Saving Time! The only problem was that if I didn't look at it for a month or two, I would have to go get the instructions to learn how to program it again. Even switching to Manual ON required manual guidance for me! And to top it off, I had a really hard time reading all the characters on the LED display from a few feet away (it was under the kitchen cabinet). All I need is to turn it on in the morning and off at night 7 days a week. So I ditched the digital timer (it has an internal battery to store the program so hopefully I'll remember to plug it in every year or so to keep the battery going) and bought a cheap $8 Timers with mechanical switching segments in a local shop household goods. Some segments wouldn't slide freely so I sent them back and ordered a pair of these BN-Link dual outlet timers from Revain. So far both are working great! Pros: Segments move to the ON position smoothly and easily, I like a manual slide switch for the always-on feature, the timer wheel can be set to the current time for about 10 minutes, and I can read the timer. The axle markings are ok. Having 2 outlets is handy as I have 2 grow lights. Each segment adds 15 minutes of time. If you register your purchase after receiving this timer, you will receive an additional 15 months warranty period.

Cons
  • Big and bulky
