Ideal for attaching zips

I bought these to make new zips. The first one I made was for a zipper on a suitcase. The suitcase is old so I thought it would be a good test. I didn't use any paint, just standard beads. I first tried wrapping melted plastic around a large zippered paper clip that I used (for many years!) but it was too big and sloppy. I cut the paperclip and just twisted the ends and made a plastic ball and shaped it. It dried white and looks great. It's durable and works better than a paper clip. Then I made black zippers for the backpack. For some reason adding color made the job difficult. I think colored beads have a higher melting point. I had to redo this zipper 4 times and it still looks wobbly. Finally, the big test: the new zipper on the Kate Spade handbag. Again, black was difficult to work with and when I mixed the color it was almost cold. So I threw it back in the hot water to soften it and quickly got to work opening it. It was better than the second bag I fixed but still not as good. I did this several times and was finally satisfied. The irony is that the first test pattern I made with no color turned out to be the best.
