I ordered this to replace the horn in my dodge truck. It still worked, but only had 1 horn and it sounded pretty wimpy. I decided to buy this because the sound of an electronic air horn seems to get people's attention. I looked at a similiar product from whelen, however it would have been around $200 to $250. Installation was easy, I used the switch provided to use the horn button on the steering wheel, and keep the ability to still use my old horn. I brought the gray heavy duty lamphus horn, and mounted it behind the grill of my truck.At first it was pretty loud, not as loud as the horn on a whelen siren unit, but still louder than a normal car horn. A few months after I installed it the temperature where I live got very cold and I noticed the sound level starting to drop. Eventually it was almost not making sound in very low temperatures. I contacted the company that sells this horn, and was pretty surprised when the individual I spoke with sent me a whole new speaker and amplifier to try. I installed the new speaker and it worked fine, and sent back the old speaker and the amplifier which I didn't need.As temperatures where I live continue drop into the single digits I have still noticed that this horn gets a little bit quieter, but still loud enough to be an effective horn. Seems like as temperatures rise above freezing it returns to normal. I may pick up a used whelen speaker and try it to see if there is any difference in sound quality/volume. Overall I am happy with it, though. I gave it 4 stars only because of the temperature issue, however it still is a good product and the customer service was much better than I expected.
