Getting the old pump out was a difficult task as the bolts were frozen. After the flanges were wire brushed and repainted, the new pump was ready to go. However, an installation warning is appropriate. BLEED BLEED ALL air trapped in your water lines. When you think all the air in the lines is gone. . . that's probably not the case. Check the pump regularly for several hours to be sure. Trapped air will burn out your new pump, so play it safe. I also ran an electrical line to the house and added a toggle timer to stop the pump after a set time. If you just leave the pump running 24/7, you'll find that your gas bill is taking a toll on your heat usage. I discovered this on an old pump many years ago and put a switch in the garage next to the pump. With the new switchable timer in the house, I no longer have to go back and forth to the garage. Life is good in paradise. :-)
